According to traveller reviews and booking platforms, the accommodation offer in Paraguay ranges from shared dorms at 5 EUR to Chaco ecolodges at 150 EUR per night. The recurring observation: a modest offer compared to neighbouring countries, but hospitality recognised for its warmth, which largely compensates for sometimes spartan comfort. The family-run inn, the equivalent of the Cuban casa particular or the Brazilian pousada, is the most common format: authentic, affordable, and run by families who open their home. Here is everything you need to know to sleep well in Paraguay.

How to Book
Booking.com and Airbnb work well for large cities (Asuncion, Encarnacion, Ciudad del Este). For family inns, ecolodges and rural accommodation, phone or WhatsApp is often the only channel. Book 1 to 2 weeks in advance during high season (December-February, Easter) and 2-3 days ahead the rest of the year. In the Chaco, always call the day before to confirm your arrival: breakdowns and delays are frequent.
