My commitments

This site talks about a country I don't yet live in (see about). This responsibility demands precise rules, which I commit to follow and to correct publicly when I deviate from them.

Official sources first

Each page cites verifiable sources. When a Paraguayan institution is authoritative on a subject (Dirección General de Migraciones, SENATUR, Banco Central del Paraguay, MADES, SET, SENACSA...), it is cited first, before private guides or expat blogs.

No stereotypes, no disinformation

Paraguay is neither reduced to folkloric clichés nor to negative generalisations (insecurity, corruption, poverty) presented without nuance or source. When a sensitive topic is covered, it is done with dated and sourced figures, never with ready-made formulas.

This site gives no advice that would circumvent Paraguayan law: no incitement to undeclared work, tax evasion, or any irregular residence procedure.

No fake social proof

This site has in the past displayed fake businesses and fake reviews in its directory and marketplace, presented as real. That was a mistake, corrected: the pages concerned now only show demonstration listings explicitly marked as such, until a real partner has been listed. See the corrections page.

Sourced and credited images

No photo is used without usage rights. Photos sent by readers are credited by name (or anonymised on request): see contribute.

Commercial transparency

Marketplace, directory, and concierge are free for listed providers, under public conditions (legal and registered service, quality content, HD photos, backlink). No ranking is paid. If an affiliate or sponsored link were to exist one day, it would be explicitly flagged next to the link, not buried in the text.

Respect for Paraguay's languages

Spanish and Guarani are the two official languages of Paraguay (see the dedicated page). This site is written in French for a Francophone readership, but never treats them as secondary.

If something is misspelled or poorly explained, let me know : help me fix it.

Quick correction, no detours

Any reported error is checked and, if confirmed, corrected as soon as possible. If a point cannot be verified, the page says so explicitly rather than asserting by default.
