Who writes this site?

While preparing my own move, I spent dozens of hours cross-referencing rough information, copied from one site to another, sometimes years out of date. Rather than keep it to myself, I started writing sourced and dated pages, thinking it might save time for others in the same situation. That's the whole project: no more, no less.

It's not hidden: I'm preparing to move, I don't live there yet. The content on this site comes from serious desk research (official Paraguayan sources, local press, public data), never from lived experience I don't have. When a piece of information requires on-the-ground experience I lack, I say so explicitly on the page rather than inventing a memory.

If you live in Paraguay and a page is clumsy, imprecise, or simply wrong on a point of daily life, your expertise far outweighs mine. See the contribute page.

Each page is written from verified sources: Paraguayan institutions (Migraciones, SENATUR, Banco Central, MADES, SET), local press (ABC Color, La Nación, Última Hora), international organisations (WHO, CDC, IMF), and reference guides (Britannica, Lonely Planet). These sources are listed at the bottom of each page, with their year, so you can verify for yourself. I set myself a minimum of 7 sources per page, and at least one per section. The site is built with Astro, hosted on o2switch, and visits are measured by Google Analytics. If you want a similar site, web-consulting.fr will be happy to give you a quote.

The name plays on identity: "el paraguayo", in Spanish, simply means "the Paraguayan". It's a nod to my expatriation project and the site's tone: not a distant brand, but a person learning and sharing. The .net rather than .com, because it's not a commercial product.
